Grease an 8x8 glass pan.
Separate the cinnamon roll dough pieces. Next, cut the cinnamon roll dough into quarters and place on the bottom of the dish.
Cover the top of the cinnamon rolls with the apple pie filling.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25-35 minutes, or until the cinnamon roll dough is firm to the touch and no longer gooey.
Drizzle the top with the icing packet that was included with the canned cinnamon rolls.

Keep the frosting packet that comes with the refrigerated cinnamon rolls. This is what you'll use to drizzle over the dish when it is done baking.
The size of the baking dish is important. I used an 8x8 glass baking dish. One can of cinnamon roll dough was one layer thick. If you double this recipe, make sure to use a larger baking dish, such as a 9x13.
The recipe will take longer to bake than what the cinnamon roll package says. It is important to make sure the cinnamon roll dough is cooked through and no longer doughy and gooey without overcooking the cinnamon rolls. When the cinnamon roll dough is firm to the touch, the dessert is ready. Make sure to check the dough in various places to make sure it is cooked through.
