Ingredients
1packagesugar cookie dough
1containerwhite frosting
gumdrops or Dots candy pieces
sprinkles
Instructions
Shape the dough into a small round ball. Place on a baking sheet about 2" apart.
Follow the directions on the packaging to bake the cookies.
After the cookies have cooled completely, decorate the cookies. Using a frosting piping bag, place a large dot of frosting in the middle of each cookie. Firmly press a gumdrop in the center. Trace the brim outline with frosting. Top the frosting with sprinkles.
Notes
Make sure the cookies are completely cooled before decorating them. Otherwise, the cookies will melt the frosting and it will be hard to decorate the sombrero cookies.
If you don't have a frosting piping bag, empty the frosting into a small plastic food storage bag. Cut off one corner of the bag to create a small hole. Press the frosting through the hole and use it just like you would a frosting piping bag.
