Aldi Chicken Nuggets

Many people wonder if Aldi sells chicken nuggets. Yes, Aldi sells chicken nuggets in several varieties!

You can find most of the chicken nugget varieties under the private-label brand name Kirkwood. Other brands include liveGFree and Earth Grown.

Aldi chicken nuggets.

Aldi even sells the Yummy nuggets at certain times. Yummy nuggets are special finds, which means that aren't stocked throughout the year.

The chicken nuggets are great to serve with Aldi ketchup, Aldi BBQ sauce, or Aldi copycat Chick-fil-a sauce.

Kirkwood Dino Nuggets

Aldi's Kirkwood Dino Nuggets are frozen and come in a bright yellow and orange box found in the freezer section. The packaging shows dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets with an "erupting" volcano made out of ketchup.

The dino nuggets are made with all white meat chicken, have no added hormones, and are made with chicken raised with no antibiotics.

Ingredients: boneless skinless chicken breast with rib meat, water, enriched wheat flour (niacin, reduced iron, thiamine, mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), yellow corn flour, isolated soy protein, corn starch, salt, dextrose, leavening (sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate), flaxseed meal, canola oil, guar gum, natural flavor, yeast, dough conditioner (ascorbic acid, l-cysteine mono-hydrochloride), iron

Are Aldi's Dino Nuggets Gluten-Free?

No, this version of Aldi's dino nuggets are not gluten-free since they contain wheat in addition to soy. Look for Yummy Dino Buddies that specifically say gluten-free on the box.

How much are Kirkwood Dino Nuggets?

As of 6/1/2023, the Kirkwood Dino Nuggets cost $8.79 for a 35 oz box.


Kirkwood Chicken Breast Nuggets

Aldi also sells Kirkwood Chicken Breast Nuggets. These are frozen and come in a bright red plastic bag that can be found in the freezer section. The packaging describes these chicken nuggets as, "Breaded nugget shaped chicken breast patties with rib meat."

The chicken nuggets contain wheat and soy so they are not gluten-free. The chicken breast nuggets come frozen.

As of 6/1/2023, a bag of Kirkwood Chicken Breast Nuggets cost $6.15 for a 29 oz bag.


liveGFree Gluten Free Chicken Bites

If you are looking for gluten-free chicken nuggets, Aldi does sell a gluten-free chicken nugget under the brand name liveGFree. These chicken nuggets are called liveGFree Gluten Free Chicken Bites.

The packaging is less geared toward kids and instead looks more marketed toward adults. However, this gluten-free chicken nugget option would be great to serve kids as well.

Ingredients

Ingredients: chicken breast, water, corn starch, rice flour, yellow corn flour, potato starch, yellow corn meal, leavening (cream of tartar, sodium bicarbonate), sea salt, garlic powder, yeast extract, onion powder, egg white powder. fully cooked in vegetable oil (canola).

As of 6/1/2023, a bag of liveGFree Gluten Free Chicken Bites cost $8.25 for an 18 oz bag.


Earth Grown Chickenless Tenders (Vegan)

Aldi also sells a vegan, meatless chicken nugget option. This option is Earth Grown Chickenless Tenders. These chicken nuggets are a meatfree alternative. The "chicken" nuggets are actually breaded soy protein tender strips.

Ingredients

water, bread (wheat flour, salt, paprika, spice), soy protein, sunflower oil, wheat fiber, wheat flour, less than 2 % of: wheat starch, vinegar, salt, cellulose, yeast extract, psyllium, onion powder, garlic powder, natural flavoring, spice, citric acid, wheat gluten.


Yummy Dino Buddies Gluten-Free Nuggets

A gluten-free chicken nugget that is marketed toward kids is Yummy Dino Buddies Gluten-Free Nuggets. The Yummy brand is not an Aldi private-label brand so these chicken nuggets can also be found at places like Walmart and Target. Aldi may not carry this brand all the time since Aldi tends to mainly sell their own private-label brands.

Ingredients

Ingredients: Boneless skinless chicken breast with rib meat, water, potato starch, sorghum flour, tapioca starch. Contains 2% or less of the following: flaxseed meal, sea salt, natural flavor, yeast, yeast extract, extractive of paprika (color), canola oil, refined coconut oil, degerminated yellow corn flour, corn starch, xanthan gum, cane suger, leavening (cream of tartar, sodium bicarbonate).


Yummy Dino Buddies Meatless Plant-Based Nuggets

Aldi also sells a vegan, veggie based "chicken" nugget geared toward kids. These vegan, veggie chicken nuggets are shaped like dinosaurs. They are sold under the brand name Yummy.

Ingredients

Water, Wheat flour, Textured soy protein concentrate, Yellow corn flour, Textured wheat protein, Canola oil. Contains 2% or less of the following: Flaxseed meal, Sea salt, Natural flavor, Yeast, Yeast extract, Spices, Onion powder, Garlic powder, Extractive of paprika (color), Distilled vinegar, Malted barley flour, Corn starch, Guar gum, Methylcellulose, Isolated soy protein, Leavening (sodium bicarbonate), Salt. Allergens: Soy, Wheat

Unfortunately, even though the Yummy Dino Buddies have a meatless, plant-based version, the nuggets contain wheat which means they are not gluten-free.


Does Aldi sell McDonald's chicken nuggets?

Aldi released McDonald's inspired chicken nuggets in the United Kingdom during the summer of 2022. However, it does not appear that Aldi released McDonald's inspired chicken nuggets in the United States.

If you aren't in the mood for chicken nuggets, but want chicken, Aldi also sells its famous "Red Bag Chicken" that tastes like Chick-fil-A. You can even purchase Aldi copycat Chick-fil-A sauce.
