Aldi Corn Dogs

July 2, 2023 by Lauren Leave a Comment

A corn dog is a popular American food consisting of a hot dog coated in a thick layer of cornbread batter and deep-fried until golden and crispy. It is commonly found at fairs and carnivals - or as an easy lunch for kids!

Aldi sells corn dogs all year long. The corn dogs are made out of chicken (rather than beef or pork) and have a slightly sweet and crispy honey-flavored coating.

The corn dogs at Aldi are sold under the brand name Bremer - a private label brand exclusive to Aldi.

You can find a variety of frozen meals and appetizers under the Bremer brand including: frozen chicken skillets, frozen lasagna, and gyro sandwich kits.

Aldi corn dogs can be found in the freezer section next to other frozen entrees. The freezer section is usually found around the perimeter of the store.

The Bremer Corn Dogs come in a cardboard box and contains 16 ounce (1 lb.) of corn dogs. Each box contains 6 corn dogs. The carton is mainly a light brown with bright red accents. The packaging label says:

Batter Wrapped Chicken Franks On a Stick

Crunchy Batter
Heat in Microwave in 60 seconds
6 Corn Dogs
Fully Cooked | Keep Frozen | Heat & Serve

Cost

As of 7/2/2023, a box of 6 Aldi corn dogs costs $3.89. Each corn dog costs approximately $0.65.

Reviews

Aldi corn dogs have mixed reviews. It is important to remember that the hot dog part is made out of chicken rather than beef or pork. Some people try to avoid eating pork or beef so the fact that these are made out of chicken may be a benefit.

The breading has a slightly-sweet honey flavor. Many people prefer a slightly-sweet breading, but others would rather have a salty and savory breading. It really comes down to personal preference.

While you can microwave the corn dogs, most reviews say the corn dogs taste much better when they have been baked in the oven or baked in an air fryer.

We have had them a couple of times and always air fry them. They turn out delicious that way.

I try to avoid microwaving anything ever because of texture issues and how it makes stuff soggy or rock hard and usually cold in the middle and warm on the outside.

I always do the oven method and I like them that way. Slightly sweet batter that's crispy on the outside and soft inside.
